About DANNY HESS
 

Based in San Francisco and the Santa Cruz mountains, I’m always refining my approach to surfboard building through long hours in the ocean and at the woodshop.

As a long time woodworker and surfer throughout my life, my goal is to create legacy surfboards rather than seasonal one-off’s- high performance boards that are as concerned with design as their environmental impact. I am always experimenting and pushing towards better materials and craftsmanship. The process is a labor of love and represents an ongoing evolution in my design process as well as a continuation of my environmental philosophy.

In SF I work out of WOODSHOP SF- a collective workspace and showroom with 4 friends who are accomplished artisans and surfers.
